MDCG was hired by Leon County School's Technology and Information Services Department to provide Project Management and Business Analyst services for the successful implementation of the county's new Pinpoint Instructional Education System. The implementation consisted of a New Grading and Attendance system and an integrated Parent Portal which is the county's new web-based student management program making it possible for parents to monitor the progress of their children and receive regular communication from teachers. The Project Team Structure was based on a collaborative team effort, drawing resources and skills from LCS (Leon County Schools), HMH (Houghton-Mifflin-Harcourt) and Global Scholar. The Leon County Schools Pinpoint Integrated Education Suite (PIES) Project replaced the district’s enterprise grade book and various other non-integrated locally deployed solutions, with a HMH Pinpoint solution that applies current technology and best practices via an integrated suite of products to improve the district’s instructional capability. The PIES solution provided LCS a set of consistent instructional policies, procedures, and processes that improve the district’s ability to capture benchmark and access the information needed to better manage and deliver positive instructional outcomes as dictated by Race to the Top Funding.
